Right Path Band
G.W. was born in Canada in 1934, but has lived in the
Southern USA for most of his life. He moved to New
Hampshire nearly 20 years ago, and now lives in Keene.
He was first introduced to bluegrass music in the
1940s. G.W. has played bluegrass and classic country
music in a number of bands through the years. At times
he has played professionally on a full time basis.
G.W. is a veteran of the US Marines and spent quite a bit
of time in Korea during his military service. He tells the
story of walking down a Japanese city street during an
R & R in the early 1950s and hearing live bluegrass
music coming from an open window a few stories up.
The sweet sounds of home were irresistible to G.W.
and he made his way up the stairs, knocked on the door
and made some new friends.
G.W. is the proud father of three daughters. Janis runs
a diabetes foundation in Knoxville, Tennessee, Lois is
a musician in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Laura is a
career member of the US Army. Finally, G.W. is also
proud to have two grandchildren.
